Netherleigh and Rossefield School

French

At Netherleigh and Rossefield School French is the chosen foreign language which is taught from Year 2 to Year 6.

The weekly programme consists of the 4 elements of language teaching i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing.

An introduction to France and its history and culture is also included in our yearly syllabus.

FrenchThis is done in a variety of ways particularly through songs, stories, poems and rhymes.

Our children are encouraged to sample French foods and French days are held at regular intervals to give the children a wider horizon into the French traditions and culture.

Students are also given one lesson per week in the computer room with Mr Hewitt where they use the computers to research topics for different teachers using the Internet.

Here, each student has been given the name of a famous French building and they are required to investigate that building and then produce a fact sheet about it using desk-top publishing software.
