Netherleigh and Rossefield School

Netherleigh And Rossefield KS1 and KS2

Education is a lifelong journey at Netherleigh and Rossefield School, we realise the importance of a good start. It is here that the foundations for learning established in our Early Years, are strengthened.

We encourage children to discuss in class, to ‘find out’ for themselves and to follow up work with their own research, so developing enquiring minds.

In our Years 1 and 2 pupils are taught mainly by their class teachers. As they progress into years 3 – 6 there is an increasing emphasis on specialist teaching.

The range of subjects is broadened beyond the National curriculum core of Literacy, Numeracy and Science to include:  Computing, Geography, History, French, Music, Art, R.E, Swimming and PSHCE (Personal, social, health and citizenship education).

Pupils are taught in small classes by well qualified staff dedicated to the children in their class.
Our pupils learn in a caring and positive atmosphere and are encouraged to ‘have a go’ and ‘do their best’.

We recognise each child is unique and has a distinct set of abilities and talents. In addition to what happens in the classroom we enhance the children’s learning by bringing in visitors and taking the children out on a variety of strips.

KS1 2

Key stage 1 and 2 students are housed in an elegant large house that has been converted to give a friendly and unique environment.

A grassed garden area and hard surfaced play area separate this building from the foundation school.

Students are greeted in the entrance each morning by a member of staff.

The building is a very traditional style with lots of "old fassioned" character which makes it feel different from modern concrete buildings.
